Excalibur

Merlin thought Arthur would fall in battle, so he took Arthur to a magical lake where a hand shot from the surface holding a magnificent sword. It was the Lady of the Lake. Excalibur was not the "Sword in the Stone" but a second sword acquired by King Arthur through Merlin. Excalibur had a magical, unbreakable blade fashioned by an Avalonian elf smith. It also had a scabbard, which would protect Arthur as long as he wore it. During the time of Arthur's reign, the sword was stolen by Morgan le Fay, Arthur's wicked half-sister. Though it was recovered, the scabbard was lost forever. Then Arthur was badly wounded in the Battle of Camlann. Arthur then instructed Bedwyr(Girflet) to return Excalibur to the lake. When questioned, Bedwyr answered that nothing strange happened when the sword was returned. Arthur knew then that Bedwyr had kept the sword. Arthur sent him back. When Bedwyr sent the sword into the lake, this time he saw the mystic hand appear and catch Excalibur. Returning it to the lake for the last time. Excalilbur was very powerful!
